Background of International Training Course

Nowadays, numerical control technology is constantly developing towards the trend of digitization, networking, and intelligence. Many “Belt and Road” countries and developing countries are actively developing manufacturing to benefit the people. With the strong support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, HuazhongCNC undertakes an international training course on CNC technology, which aims to promote China and the developing countries to exchange advanced technologies, development trends, and directions in CNC technology. Numerical control technology training courses are of great significance for in-depth international scientific and technological cooperation and promotion. Just as before, this International Training Workshop on CNC Technologies for Developing Countries has been highly valued by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and HuazhongCNC.

2021 International Training Course

On 1st, November 2021, the opening ceremony of the “2021 International Training Course on CNC Technology for Developing Countries” which is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and jointly undertaken by the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering of HUST (Huazhong University of Science and Technology) and Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd. was successfully held in HUST, Wuhan, China. Since 2004, this is the 5th time that HuazhongCNC has undertaken the CNC technology training course for developing countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. This International Training Workshop on CNC Technologies for developing countries has enrolled more than 80 students from 16 countries in Southeast Asia, the Americas, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Students from many countries such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and South Africa simultaneously participated in this opening ceremony.

The objective of this training

The “International Training Workshop on CNC Technologies” is aimed at training professional and technical personnel in the CNC industries from developing countries. The trainees will learn the advanced technologies and frontiers in the field of CNC. This workshop will help developing countries to facilitate the industrialization of CNC and robotics, promote international exchange, cooperation, and talent training between China and other developing countries, and achieve the goal of mutual benefit and win-win situation.

Training methods and contents

The workshop consists of four parts: lectures, cloud visits, remote practical training, and group discussion, which pure online elaborates the principles and development trends of CNC technology, practices the operation, programming, and processing of CNC systems, acquaints trainees with the characteristics and advantages of Chinese CNC products, explains the related technologies of CNC systems, and the basic knowledge of intelligent manufacturing and industrial robots, and provides opportunities to operate simple robots. In addition, trainees will visit Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd., National Innovation Institute of Digital Design and Manufacturing, and other institutions, and learn traditional cultures such as Chinese calligraphy, martial arts, Chinese and paper cutting.

1. Log in on the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology of P. R. China (https://mostitp.cistc.gov.cn/student_login.aspx), enter the trainee enrollment center, input personal information as required (as shown in Figures 1 and 2), and upload a photo (less than 1M) taken recently.

2. It’s required that trainees complete the online application before Oct. 15, 2023, and email the following materials to HCNC at hcnc@huazhongcnc.com

a. Application Form;

b. Information Form;

c. Recommendation Letter, must be officially signed and sealed by the employer, any personal references are considered to be invalid;

d. Scanned copy of passport (if it is not your first visit to China, please scan your previous entry visa(s) to China and entry/exit records);

e. Scanned copy of your employer’s Business License;

f. Certificate of employment or any documents that can prove you are working for the employer.

3. Accepted applicants are required to email their reports on the CNC technology development situation in their own countries to hcnc@huazhongcnc.com before Oct. 15, 2023.

4. HCNC will review the application materials and then submit them to the Ministry of Science and Technology of P. R. China. Admission Notices will be issued to the accepted applicants.

Requirements for trainees

  1. Engineers, technicians, researchers, enterprise administrators, and government officials from developing countries.
  2. Working experience in mechanical, electrical, or automation-related industries.
  3. Have a good command of English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  4. Familiar with the CNC technology development situation of the trainee’s country and provide a report on this issue.
  5. Complying with the laws and regulations of P. R. China respects Chinese traditional customs during its stay in China and abides by the rules of network learning.
  6. Trainees who complete all the study requirements of the training program will be recommended by HUST if apply for further Master’s degree programs at HUST.

Registration 

An admission Notice is required for online registration of the training system from the 23rd to the 27th of October, international student ID will be issued then.
